Six Bangkok days, starting at your own front door
Pinklao is usually treated as the way into the Old City. This side of the river has its own markets, riverside cafés, temples, museums and parks.
Six days out, from a slow half-morning to a full sightseeing day — none of them crossing Bangkok twice.
1. Wang Lang + Siriraj + Wat Rakhang
Best for: food, markets, cafés and an easy local half-day
Go to Wang Lang in the morning for snacks, street food and small shops, then explore the Siriraj riverside or visit Wat Rakhang before crossing the river by ferry into the Old City.
2. Grand Palace + Wat Pho + Wat Arun
Best for: first-time Bangkok visitors, temples and photography
Take the MRT Blue Line from Bang Yi Khan to Sanam Chai. Visit Wat Pho and the Grand Palace area, then cross the river from Tha Tien to Wat Arun.
3. Old City + Pak Khlong Talat + Chinatown
Best for: one full Bangkok day without backtracking
Spend the day around the Old City, stop at the flower market, then continue by MRT to Chinatown for dinner.
4. Rama VIII Park in the evening
Best for: families, children, walkers and runners
The riverside park in Bang Phlat is an easy option when you want fresh air without committing to another major sightseeing day.
5. Phra Athit + Khao San
Best for: late afternoon, cafés, casual dinner and Old Bangkok atmosphere
If Khao San feels too busy, spend more time around Phra Athit Road, Phra Sumen Fort and the riverside before walking into Khao San later.
6. A slow day around Pinklao
Go to Central Pinklao for groceries, restaurants, a cinema, pharmacy and practical shopping — or spend the day around local cafés and markets instead.
Make yourself at home.
